Logo Progress

I'm doing a Peruvian restaurant called Machu Picchu, I'm striving to achieve a "stamp" approach to this logo. The "Inca man" is basically going to be dipping the object in his hand into a cauldron type bowl, I currently have a polygon for visual purposes. I do not intend on leaving that polygon. I will be posting more logos with an actual cauldron in the next few days. I have tried a few things to approach that "stamp" look. This is where I am currently.

Any thoughts of playing with the border that is surrounding the icon and the typeface? Maybe adding texture to make it feel more stamp like. Just to experiment it more.

The bottom two on the right are really nice. The very bottom one might have a little too much going on, but the one above it is lookin good. The diagonal line is interesting and unexpected, and draws your eye down to the type.

Yes, keep it simple.
Simple is memorable. That doesn't mean not to have texture and shape and strong type...just don't overdo the shapes (typeface and image.)
colors are interesting and moving along greatly. nice job.

They all look good, but I think maybe too much for a logo. If you were to get rid of a lot of the shapes around the logo, and make it a simple, clean one, then you can bring those shapes back in you ads, etc. Because some of these look like great bones for a full page spread. of t-shirts, etc.
